(1) Whenever there was snow, Mrs. E. had suffocative oppression in the upper chest, as from great hypertrophy of the mucous membrane of larynx and bronchia. Permanently cured by Nix1M.

(2) During snowy weather, Mr. L. is troubled with a stiffness of the muscles of the heart, causing it to labor heavily and painfully, with a congested condition of the bronchia. Nix10M gave immediate relief.

(3) On eating snow, when hunting on snow-shoes, it produces such laziness that one feels inclined to lie down, not having any desire to move on. Snow water is said to produce goiter. (Dr. G. G. Gale)

(4) A lady had intense thirst, could not drink any water, but ate broken ice to the extent of fourteen pounds a day. Gave Ice30M night and morning. After third dose could eat no more ice.

(5) Miss L. was continually eating candies, of which she was fond, until her digestive organs were affected. A few doses of Sacc. off.30M caused such a change in her taste, that she ate no more and could not bear the sight of them.

(6) A patient could not eat ice cream, as it produced an intense pain at the inner half of the right eyebrow, extending to the whole frontal region, and continuing for twenty-four hours. Three doses of Ice(High) enabled him to eat ices with impunity for the rest of the season.

(7) Mr. C. suffered two years from an inverted toe-nail; had tried three of the best physicians and an endless variety of remedies without relief. About a year ago he submitted to the painful operation of having the nail pulled out by the root, but in three months it grew in and troubled him more than before. He took Magnes Australis1M, and in about five weeks was entirely cured.

(8) Mrs. D., nervo-sanguine temperament, has suffered for five years from an in-growing toenail, outer side of left great toe. During most of this time she has not been able to wear a shoe on this foot— and never without greatly increasing the pain— or even bear the weight of the body on it. Any mis-step would be followed by a discharge of blood and pus. The outer side of the toe was very much inflamed and swollen, so that nearly half the nail was hidden. No treatment, even cutting out half the nail, gave more than temporary relief. One drop of Magnes Australis1M was given. Relief soon followed and she felt so much better that she did not return for ten days. The toe looked better, was less sensitive to pressure, and she could wear her boot without causing much pain. The swelling had nearly disappeared at the root of the nail, giving the appearance of a piece having been cut out. Gave three doses of the same remedy, one every night, and in a few days the toes was perfectly well. The part of the nail which had been buried in the flesh, crumbled away. No applications of any kind were made. Six months has passed and the toe remains well. The repetition of the dose was probably unnecessary. (Dr. Ballard)

(9) Mrs. S.C., aged 31, blonde, complains of a pain in the left lower jaw as if out of joint; worse in the morning and on moving it, sensation as if the head of the bone were squeezed and crowded into the socket. Magnes Arcticus1M, three doses, one every night, removed all symptoms. (Dr. C. M. Conant)

(10) A young married lady rapidly gained flesh and weight after her confinement; this, with the un-natural pressure on the the ball of her foot, induced by high heeled shoes, caused the flesh on the inner side of the left great toe to grow over the corner of the nail. Through neglect and injudicious local medication, ulceration and large unhealthy granulations followed. The attendant pain was so great as to prevent use of the foot. Magnes Australis1M every night for a week; the center of the nail to be shaved, and a small plate of hard rubber placed under the corner. In ten days the toe was well, and has remained so. The guiding symptom was found in Hahnemann's proving of Magnes Australis (entirely omitted in Allen's Encyclopedia— "soreness of the inner side of the nail of the big toe, in the flesh, as if the nail has grown into the flesh on one side." (Dr. H. I. Ostrom)

(11) I have also cured the following symptom with Magnes Australis1M: Ingrowing toenail, with great sensibility and pain as if from a wound, the nail penetrates the flesh, painful to touch.
